On 26th March 2014, the final closure of the superstructure was successfully completed.
This closure marked the complete connection of the south and north banks of the Red river.
This was 1 year and 4 months since the commencement of cantilever erection in November 2012.
The final closure of a multi-span cable stayed bridge is technically challenging and was predicted to be a difficult operation.
However, the Contractor used technologically advanced methodologies to strictly control cantilever erection and to predict the geometry at closure and completion.
These methods made into a Geometry Control System played an integral part in ensuring a smooth closure.
