Inauguration Ceremony was held to celebrate Nhat Tan bridge open with great splendor on January 4th, 2015.

In order to gorgeously celebrate this significant date, the Representatives of Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, Vietnam Government, National Assembly of Vietnam, MOT, Ha Noi People’s Committee, JICA, Employer PMU85, Consultants, Contractors and many guests attended the ceremony.

MLIT Minister, Mr. Akihiro Ohta in his speech, said that was his second visit to Nhat Tan Bridge. The earlier was in September 2013, when construction works was on progress. He said, completion of the Nhat Tan – Noi Bai Projects would create favorable conditions for more Vietnamese people to travel to the world and at the same time help more foreign guests visit Vietnam.

Mr. Sadao Degawa, Executive Vice President of IHI Corporation, shared impression and experience when working in Vietnam and hoped the bridge would become symbol of Japan-Vietnam Friendship and a place of interest in generations’ memory as well.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam, Mr. Hoang Trung Hai praised the efforts of local authorities, employer and contractors in site clearance, resettlement and construction to ensure on-time completion of the project. He took the occasion to express thanks to the Japanese Government and people for their support and collaboration, saying that he hopes both sides will further step up cooperation activities to enhance the bilateral strategic partnership.

At the end of the event, Vietnam National Assembly Chairman Mr. Nguyen Sinh Hung and VIP guests took part in the ribbon cutting and name plate launching ceremonies of Nhat Tan Bridge.

Nhat Tan Bridge is the seventh crossing over the Red River. It has shortened the travel time from Hanoi City Centre to the Noi Bai Airport by half as well as eases the burden on other bridges.
